3 Clever Ways to Hide a Litter Box

As much as we love our cats, it’s not always aesthetically pleasing to have their litter boxes on display in our homes. Here are three simple, smart ways to hide the litter box and give your cat some added privacy – win-win!

1. Secret Storage Chest “That woven chest is so cute!” – your guests. What may look like a smart storage solution can actually double as a hiding place for your litter box. Measure out a cat-sized square along the end of any kind of woven storage chest. Carefully cut it out and voila, restroom cat door! The open top lid makes scooping and filling the litter box a breeze.

2. Covert Curtain Hack Console tables have many uses, but have you ever considered one to hide your cat’s litter box? This idea is great, especially if you’re looking to upcycle some old curtains or fabric. Along the inside of the glass doors, staple, or hot glue fabric to your liking. Cut a cat door out on one end or remove the side entirely and hang additional curtains for a swankier entrance.

3. Disguised Drawers If you’ve ever been to Walmart or a college dorm room, you have probably seen these plastic storage drawers. TikTok users have been raving about this litter-box-concealing solution. Simply cut the bottoms out of all the drawers to create one large enclosure. Then cut one end off the middle drawer to work as an entrance/exit. Finally, fill the bottom drawer with litter and you’re done!
