3 DIY Tennis Ball Games for Dogs
Ahh, March. Or, as we like to say in Vermont – mud season. For many, March signals the beginning of spring, but depending on where you live – spring weather can be pretty far off. If you and your fur baby are dealing with a serious case of spring fever, we’ve got some fun and easy DIY games you can make with a few tennis balls and some things you probably have around your house.
Super Sniffer Puzzle
What You Need:
- Muffin tin
- Tennis balls
- Treats
What You Do:
- Fill a muffin with a few of your pup’s favorite treats. We love our Impawsibly Good Treats for this activity.
- Place a tennis ball over each cup to hide the treats.
- Let your pupper have fun!
Tip: If your fur baby is an advanced sniffer – try keeping a few of the cups empty to make for a more difficult puzzle.

- Let your pup try and get the treats out!
Tip: Use smaller treats, we like to use Superfood Treats for this game
Tug o’ War
What You Need:
- Old t-shirt
- Tennis ball
- Scissors
- Sharp utility knife
What You Do:
- Start by cutting your t-shirt into strips approximately 2” wide.
- Next, carefully cut 2, 1” diameter holes in each side of the ball.
- Take 3 t-shirt strips and thread them through the tennis ball.
- Make a knot on each side of the ball to keep the strips from sliding through.
- Now, braid the 3 strips, adding more to the length if you want to. What you should have at the end is a braided rope with the tennis ball in the middle. You can make your rope as long or as short as you want.
- Let your pup play!
